Cheltenham Betting Tips

The great and the good were invited to Langton’s in Kilkenny of a fantastic evening of Cheltenham Previewing. Unfortunately the great and good were all washing their hair, but Paddy Power did still manage to assemble a really good panel of experts, featuring:

Donn McLean – Sunday Times and Irish Field journalist and one of the shrewdest judges in the game.
David Minton – Renowned breeder and bloodstock agent who incidentally has bought no less than thirteen winners of the Triumph Hurdle
Edward O’Grady – A leading trainer and one with a particular fondness for winning at Cheltenham.
Timmy Murphy – one of the best jockeys in the business with a host of victories on board some of the best horses in some of the best races, most recently, guiding Comply Or Die to victory in the Grand National.
Tony Mullins – a leading trainer and part of the Mullins dynasty.
Mick Fitzgerald – former top jockey and rapidly becoming a top MC.
Paul Ryan – our man on the inside.

Not only did we hear some excellent analysis of how Cheltenham might unfold, but it was all in aid of the Paddy Power Charity of the year, the Irish Hospice Foundation. Read on for the finest Cheltenham predictions and if you win, why not throw a few quid their way?

It looks like Cousin Vinny might be the only Irish banker doing anyone a favour this year.

Paddy Power took the idiotic incredible decision to REFUND ALL LOSING BETS on the Supremes Novice Hurdle if Cousin Vinny wins the race. He’s 5/2 now, he’ll almost certainly be shorter on the day, and by my reckoning this makes our offer the most generous Money-Back Special in racing history.

So just to be clear - any horse, no matter where he finishes (or even if he doesn’t) - if Cousin Vinny wins you are all getting your Money Back. And unlike some other bookmakers I could mention, when Paddy Power say Money Back that’s what they mean.

So is this a stroke of genius or a stroke of madness? I can’t decide. But one thing is for sure, there’s going to be even more interest than usual in the Supreme Novices’ this year in Paddy Power HQ.
